Morgan made it to meet us in Italy; she found our train platform and greeted us as we arrived from Switzerland.
We have been hanging out in two awesome little Italian towns along the Mediterranean in an area known as the Cinque Terre; there are five such towns scattered down the coast, Vernazza being the second and Corniglia the third. They are all of them connected by cliffside paths, although currently one cannot travel any further south than Corniglia due to some landslides yet to be cleared. Most of the pictures of the coastline are from vistas along the path connecting Vernazza to Corniglia.
Vernazza is beautiful but, during the day at least, incredibly touristy. Corniglia was, while still host to some tourists a much quieter and down-to-earth town. Only 250 residents!
We leave tomorrow for Florence; bring on the art.
